The Company
Hemlock Goods (now Handker Bandanas) is a wholesale and e-commerce hand-illustrated bandana brand based in Fulton, Missouri. We were a very small team, but with products stocked in independent shops across the world.
My Role
As part of a very small team, I wore many hats - my work included catalogs, social media, marketing collateral, website assets, and product design. The company took on a large re-brand in early 2021 and I helped update the website, marketing cards, social media, and catalog according to new branding. I led the development of branding assets for marketing. I was also the lead copywriter for social media and the catalog.
Skills: Marketing, copywriting, layout design, social media strategy, and content creation. Creative collaboration, communication, independent time management and problem solving.
Marketing
My primary tasks for marketing were designing website assets, marketing cards, and email design. For emails, I worked with our marketing coordinator to write copy and design campaigns to our retail audience as well as less frequent campaigns to wholesale.
Hemlock’s general strategy was releasing new products in small collections on a quarterly basis. I worked with our team to create conceptual campaigns around each launch with very in-depth photoshoots, story-led copywriting, and various marketing collateral including sticker postcards and limited edition product bundles.
Catalog
I was responsible for designing Hemlock’s semi-annual catalog. After the brand’s redesign in early 2021, I overhauled the design and layout of previous catalogs. I worked closely with our photographer to plan photos and then did layout, graphics, and copywriting.
Social Media
I worked closely with our photographer to plan strategy and content for the Hemlock Instagram, as well as being lead copywriter. I created graphics as needed for posts and stories.
